Day 5 of P90X/Insanity Max hybrid
Today's challenging workouts were Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance and Insane Abs. Power & Resistance was tough today. I did my best and finished the workout, although I did take a few short breaks (5-10 sec.) during a couple of sets. I rested for about 5 minutes before starting Insane Abs.
Insane Abs is a lot harder than Cardio Abs. Shaun T starts out with a "warm up" of:
jogging
high knees
high knees w/twist
tuck jumps
power jumps
t kicks
and t kicks w/hop
The above rotation is repeated; then it's time for some ground work in C-sit position:
6 inches
flutter kicks
scissor kicks
and knees in & out
The above rotation is repeated; then while still in C-sit position:
power abs
power abs (no hands)
over the mountain
core adduction
and core adduction (no hands)
bicycle runs
bicycle runs (no hands)
The above rotation is, of course, repeated; then it's time for some plank work, while in low plank:
low plank hops
alternating balance holds
alternating knee to elbow
repeat alternating knee to elbow
oblique rotation
plank walkers (starting right)
and finally...plank walkers (starting left)
Insane Abs is a grueling workout that left my mid-section scorched. It works the core in a different way than P90X's Ab Ripper X or even One on One's Killer Abs. It's a great workout, one worth having in your rotation.
Keep Pressing Play, Dig Deeper, and Bring It!
